World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the item to which it is applied (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after the reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a substantial risk that the item may become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item upgrades. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate chances of failure, and some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When an individual player improves a piece of equipment it is replaced by the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item upgrader mod will come with a bonus of its own. This can be a disadvantage, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a totally different set of bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can use up many resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, which requires the player to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like the chance to crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. However, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade will require an individual amount of upgrade ingredients.
