greenpower mobility (visit the up coming post) - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Greenpower designs, manufactures and distributes the entire range of medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles. This includes school cargo buses, buses for cargo and shuttles.
EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that has a high degree of personalization. It's also FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It comes with a world-class range and ADA wheelchair-friendly features. It also has cargo delivery configurations.
EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company produces a complete line of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate many different bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows the best battery pack placement and lower center of gravity resulting in better payload-to-range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was developed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries and catering applications. The class 4 refrigerated trucks with a single wall structure inside and a higher insulation level than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX delivers superior cargo capacity and a top payload-to-range ratio for zero-emission goods and passenger transportation.
greenpower electric scooters has collaborated with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to quickly move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We were capable of testing the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours. We found it to be easy to drive, and comfortable to drive for long distances. The EV9 can block the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. It rides smoothly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is extremely quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.
The EV9 offers a great range and can be recharged within three hours or less at home, or using any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode prioritizes torque, cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer a unique driving experience for anyone that has never driven an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, such as a multi-purpose, all-electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and Electric mobility power Scooter Fastest (more info here) can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit vanpool, bus or paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This will make them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its demonstration tour later this year. We will be sharing more details about this revolutionary EV.
