Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon big-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upp your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the items that make your weapons and armor better. You can get them from destroying enemies, finding them in item spheres or buying them from karma dealers. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them, or through an advanced salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed by removing them from an item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded but they also serve other purposes. They can be used to increase the quality of an upgradeable item or they can be used to increase the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can be forged to give extra bonuses. For example, a designed glyph will increase the chances of upgrading its target, whereas a boost upgrade will enhance the defense or attack property of a weapon, or armor.
By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will let you bind it to an item. It will display the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component has a distinct experience multiplier that affects how much more experience an item will gain when it upgrades with that component. For instance, organic components give a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. You should upgrade organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier for experience, each item also has the maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the kind of upgrade they can get. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon that is the tier 10. However, the most popular upgrades for weapons are a tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a set of items which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and each upgrade boosts its guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade a set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, primary stats are boosted even further (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also increase a weapon's damage base. This can be crucial for certain types of weapons. Weapons cannot be upgraded for greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It's possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, but they may not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.
If the item upgrades you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus, it can be rerolled only once, and then its guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item, however the new item will have various bonuses. Upgrades can be made through the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be bought with Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each completed level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once and will use the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If players have enough tokens for rerolling, they can roll any item they've accumulated during the game. When an upgraded item is being rerolled, it can be exchanged for a version that is level 1 of the same item in a different set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the original one, but its stats will be different also.
Players can change the identity of their equipment as well as rerolling it by interacting with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identity from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and attributes that are required. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who own the equipment.
Players can also boost the item level of any equipped device by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the item's upgrader NPC. This will cost a certain number of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and type. Each step will add 5% more damage to weapons.
Upgrades can increase the effectiveness of an item, but they also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to keep both in check. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded in order to realize their potential. One player may wish to upgrade their breakpoint armor using an interesting modifier ( percent block chance, or FHR) in order to discover what it could become.
The primary reason why people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is that they're trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they can't otherwise obtain. These items are time-consuming and costly to obtain, and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only other options are to invest money or grind extensively. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was intended to to give some value to rare items, but since gear in general drops fairly quickly and can only be upgraded once you've reached a certain level it is likely that you will replace the item before it becomes too old. It's also not worthwhile to upgrade items that have gem sockets as the power of the gem will be greater than the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
When you click the upgrade item button on an item, you'll see a small window with the upgrade template of the item level upgrade as well as the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the item level. The cost will differ between the armor and weapons and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats to be added to an upgraded item as well as its current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the current Ilvl of the item as well as the upgrade templates. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade templates reduction percentage of lvl. For instance an upgrade of 8% will decrease the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
The item will get upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry, and dodge rating in addition to the base level. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template, you can see the amount of damage or defense the item will receive when it is upgraded. This is listed below the cost and upgrade percentages. Apart from the equipment for practice, all items and armor get the same stats once leveled up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled weapon or piece of armor is able to command more trade value than non-upp'd versions. The same is true for other armor pieces like circlets and tiaras.
