World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can boost an Best item upgrade's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. This value is the total of all the leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
The level of an item is a commonly used measure of power, and is visible on all tooltips of items. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the level of an item. It's a sign of the item's damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item level.
The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are many theories about how the item level is determined. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different values, and also that gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is typically close to the actual Blizzard item level.
However, this is not the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, because the size of the area the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
The item's stats can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.
Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.
At present, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.
Players can upgrade an item to specific stats or reroll the affixes. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it is an exclusive item or the result of a God roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, this must be done per item, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of those properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players a possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs than in later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability, which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck, or to increase the luck of the item to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by 5%. These items can be found in the shops or made using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item upgrade. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..
The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an initial success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases that chance by 5percent.
Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader - please click Fewpal, CORE client config.
