World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will increase an additional 3% of the previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial risk that the item may become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item upgrader mod. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item level upgrade.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade item parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

The use of the Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can increase in price even if you don't need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a different set of extra bonuses. This is a good idea but it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player repeatedly enters or exits water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as an item level upgrade that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the player to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any gained bonuses such as crit chance, attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
