Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the best ways to improve your equipment without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear.
Upgrades to equipment give an increase in the item's stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component's level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the things that can make your weapons and armor better. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in the form of item-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment with them, or through a high-tier salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when they are removed from an item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked in order to increase the level or experience gained from upgrading existing weapons or gear. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. A glyph that is crafted can boost the upgrade chances of its target while a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of weapons.
You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario, the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item can gain when upgraded with that component. For instance, organic components give a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade with organic components until you reach the experience multiplier for the next rank of the weapon or gear, and then move to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier of experience, each item also has the maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by the rank that can be upgraded and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible upgrade for a weapon is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most commonly used upgrade for weapons is the tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade will increase the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item or set piece will give it a +1 increase to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, primary stats are increased even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase its damage base, which may be important for some builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give greater maximum defence rolls than their base. Upgrading can be a good option to increase the value of certain sets and unique items, but it is important to keep in mind that they may not be more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.
If you are upgrading an item that has bonuses the item can be rerolled a single time and the guarantee will reset back to 0. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as bringing an item, but the upgraded item upgrader kit will come with various bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the required amount of Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each type. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also offer an extra reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once, and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
A player is able to roll any item they have acquired in the game provided they have enough tokens to be able to do so. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small amount of in-game currency, however they are not refundable. The new item will come with the same extra bonuses as the previous one, but the stats will differ.
Players can change the identification of their equipment as well as changing it's roll by interfacing with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while retaining its base stats and the attributes it requires. The change will be permanent and affect all characters who have the equipment.
Players can also increase the item upgrader level of any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade items and conversing with the NPC who upgrades the item. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, item type and number of crests. In the case of weapons, each step up will add five percent to the damage.
Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, but they also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading, while others will need to be upgraded in order to realize their potential. For instance one player might decide to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can become.
The main reason people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is because they are trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they can't otherwise obtain. These items can be expensive and time-consuming, and the RNG gods don't always want to cooperate. The only choices left is to shell out real money or grind a lot. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item you can choose to upgrade the weapon or armor. However, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was designed to be a way to add value to rare items, but as the majority of gear drops quickly and is only upgraded once you've reached a certain level, you'll usually replace the item before it gets old enough. It's also not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets as the power of the gem will outweigh the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
If you click the upgrade option on an item, you will be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template for the item and the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the item level. The cost of upgrades will vary based on armor and weapons and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template shows the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item and also lists its current ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated based on the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For example weapons with an increase of 8% will reduce its ilvl by 8 - 8 percent.
The item will get upgrades to other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry, and dodge rating in addition to the base level. These increases are based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template, you can determine the amount of damage or defense an item will be able to sustain when it is upgraded. This is listed below the cost as well as the upgrade percentages. Apart from the equipment for practice, all items and armor get these same stats when leveled up. The market determines the value of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can command a much higher price than a non-upp’d version. This is also true for other pieces of armor, such as circlets and tiaras.
