Costs

You can also add additional materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. These are shown in a window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.
Another method to increase the chance of a successful upgrade is by using the item known as a Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is useful if you have an item of gear that has reached the highest level for its tier, or is close to it. It allows you to upgrade that piece of equipment to the next level without risking breaking.
If an upgrade fails, it will be reverted to its original state. This is typically a break, but it can also be an upgrade. You should save an upgrade until you reach the maximum level for an item.
There are many items in the Kafra shop that can be used to increase the chances of an upgrade succeeding. For instance upgrading an equipment with HD Oridecon or HD Elunium multiple times will provide you with a higher chance of success. The rate of success will be increased if you increase your chances of receiving a Double Mint by Shoe-Minting five times.
Failure Rate
