Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at a time to get a gauge of the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats on your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over the world as well as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods at all.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They move to draw the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in conveying an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also increase the retention of a message by evoking an emotional connection in the brain.
Each glyph has a range of values that it could increase a stat's value, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This range is not the actual amount at which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum value by which it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the item that you are in awe of.
The majority of upgrade components installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can remove the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed within which it is placed, but you can recover the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards, therefore it should not be considered a loss.
When you take away an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also put an inscription on your equipment to increase its value. Reroll tokens
