Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they are upgraded.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the user must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding an Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's kind. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes to choose from, whereas legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade item (posteezy.com published an article) step will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item upgrader kit fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC gives players the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of material, though it will result in less chance of success.
To measure the height of a structure engineers employ a level to compare the measurement with an established reference point, such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential aspect of the game and can boost an item level upgrade's damage, strength or other attributes. You can do this via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be handled with care.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may have a unique bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the greater your chance of obtaining the bonus of a different kind.
The game also comes with number sets that grant an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a great way to give a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and attain higher levels.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can be of different sizes, contain no elements, or contain a single element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They are also useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways such as size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, while others are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have lots of weapons or armor pieces already.
Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs that can be useful in some builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to par with the levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, armor and weapons have higher value when they are fully updated. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs and are upgraded to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant increase in their performance. This will also increase the defense of armor that has a newer appearance.
