Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best way to upgrade your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrade of your items. This allows you to enhance your gear without having to rely on expensive trades or drops. This article will show you how to upp your gear effectively.
Upgrading equipment grants a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the items that can make your weapons and armor better. You can find them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors, or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them, or through the highest-quality salvage kits like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed when you remove them from the item.
Upgrade components are primarily used to improve an item upgrader mod however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level of an upgradeable item or they can be used to boost the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be made to give additional bonuses. For instance, a crafted glyph will boost the chances of upgrading its target, and the boost upgrade can boost the defense or attack property of a weapon, or armor.
You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either instance the item upgrades will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a different experience multiplier, which affects how much more experience an item will gain when it upgrades with the component. Organic components, for instance, have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. You should upgrade organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment and then move on to mechanical upgrades.
Each item has an upgrade maximum number that is available for. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the type of upgrade they can receive. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon that is tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a gun with tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that all share the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at minimum once. The upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. When you first upgrade a set piece or weapon is that it will be given an increase of +1 to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are increased even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats increases randomly.
Upgrades can also increase the base damage of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain types of builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a higher maximum defense roll than their base. It is possible to increase value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they may not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.
If an item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled once and the guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling will cost the same amount of power dice as leveling an item up, but the new item will have various bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will need the appropriate amount Minerals and Erons, as well as a power dice of each type. These can be bought with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each completed level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a single time with the same materials and components as the first item.
Rerolling
A player is able to roll any item they have acquired during the game, provided they have enough tokens to do so. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced by an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The new item will come with the same bonus features as the original, but the stats will differ.
Players can change the identity of equipment in addition to rerolling it by interacting with a NPC upgrader. This will change the identity from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and required attributes. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.
The player can also upgrade their level of an item for any equipment equipped. This is done by talking to an upgrader NPC, and then obtaining upgrade items. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, the item type, and the number of crests. In the case of weapons, each step will add five percent to the damage.
Upgrades can increase the capability of an item upgrade, however they can also reduce its quality. Therefore, it is important to keep both in check. Certain items might not be worth upgrading, while others will need to be upgraded to maximize their potential. For example an individual player may want to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to see what it can be.
Rerolling is a common practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it to gain access to an item or character they would not otherwise be able to acquire. These items are time-consuming and costly to acquire and the RNG isn't always a good fit. The only other options are to invest money or grind for a long time. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item, you can level up the weapon or armor. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I think this feature was created to add some value to rare and expensive items. However, as most items are replaced quite quickly and can only be upgraded by one level, you will generally replace it before it becomes too old. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will far outweigh the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
When you click on the upgrade option on an item, you'll be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template of the item as well as the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the item level. The cost will differ between armor and weapons and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats to be added to an upgraded item upgrade along with its current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade template's reduction percentage of lvl. For instance, an upgrade of 8% will decrease the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 8percent.
The item will be upgraded to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damages, and block, parry and dodge rating, in addition to the base level. Those increases are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item is able to receive when leveled up can be shown below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to equipment for practice, all armor and weapons gain the same stats once leveled up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon can command significantly more trade value than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces such as circlets or Tiaras.
