World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will gain 3percent of its previous damage for each time it is upgraded.
Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item upgrade level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level with normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can get up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate chance of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as you can.
In the endgame, you will often find that the best way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your gear. Leveling

Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is leveled up.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item upgrade comes with its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is highly important in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of its non-upgraded version.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its original state which means that the player has to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance that it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. However, players must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade items. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs mentioned above.
