Three Wheeled Buggies
Whether you're looking for a buggy to run with or just a stroller that can be used for strolls around the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver, even in tight places.
If you are looking for a smooth ride with your baby, select models with 360deg front wheels that can swivel. They are susceptible, however, to punctures. Be prepared with an emergency repair kit.
Sturdy frame
The latest figures have been released showing that the three-wheeled buggie - a symbol of the noughties of more money than wisdom is in a decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers which can handle a wider variety of terrain, while still looking swanky and being easy to push.
The idea is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it'll be for your buggy to deal with bumpy and rough pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear allow you to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or in difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with the newborn baby and a toddler and found it very durable. It was able to handle grass, cobbles and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. She noted that it was solid to push and very stable on difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable so need occasionally pumping) have suspension built-in which was extremely comfortable for my kids.
The size and shape of the seat is another thing to think about. You'll want it to be large enough for your child's comfort. You will also need it to recline for them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies have the option of lying flat that allows the child to face you, while others only allow a parent-facing one.
The Roma Atlas is a great alternative for off-road or wet walks. This buggy is ideal for a single child from birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth to age 4, and comes with a bumper and raincover, a new 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat. The storage options are good too, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets in the hood, and an easy-to-access pouch on the back of the seat unit.
Wheels with a greater diameter
Larger wheels mean that your buggy will be more stable on rough terrain - perfect for buggies designed for off-road use. They also allow you to maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeler pushchair wheeled buggies have rotating front wheels that assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, whereas others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with which they can be pushed. This is also useful if you bump against trees or a kerb. The front wheel will be lifted slightly to keep it from hitting it.
A lot of 3 wheel pushchairs have air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle different terrains and are much more adaptable than 4-wheelers. They are also lighter. They are more prone to punctures, and you'll require a repair kit and spare inner tube on hand.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo lux are some of our favourite 3-wheelers. Both buggies feature larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and can easily climb and descend kerbs. The buggies also come with suspensions that according to Kath "smooths out bumps with great efficiency".
The downside of having bigger wheels is that they make some buggies quite broad and make it difficult to get through narrow spaces. This could be problematic if you intend to are using it as a jogger or have to squeeze through doorways that are narrow when out and about. Most models come with compact folding options that permit you to take off the front wheels and store them more compactly.
Easy to maneuver
One of the main benefits of a three-wheel buggy is that it is much easier to maneuver, especially with a child in tow. The way they are built ensures that the front wheels spin at a whim and are incredibly easy to manoeuvre and are ideal for difficult terrain such as parks, cobbles, bumpy pavements and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3 wheel strollers-wheeler with her toddler, and she said: "The Terrain is a joy to maneuver on uneven terrain. The front swivel wheel was particularly helpful." I was also amazed by the way it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break. I found it extremely stable when going downhill or on uneven ground."
The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the three wheeled buggies wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces - something to keep in mind if you live in a metropolitan region. If this is an issue, a 4-wheeled buggy may be the better choice for you.

The sling's fabric is placed inside the frame it is not positioned on top like the seat that is modular. This creates a lower centre of gravity for your newborn at the ideal height, and also delivers an excellent weight distribution, making it easier to climb over curbs (it is much easier to push a stroller up and down than you think). MFM reviewer Kath discovered that it was able to cope well with cobbles and grass and is a great option for jogging due to its lockable swivel front wheel and air-filled tyres.
