World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will gain 3% of its previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item upgrader kit it's used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost upgrade items' can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of an item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon a reset.

If a boost upgrade items is successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade items component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to place Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is leveled up.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced with a different item of the same type. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item may become more expensive even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial but it shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of its non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
