WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrading by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item level upgrade from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an item's preview when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item upgrades level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items come from another set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader mod upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them properly. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
