WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader mod Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade items their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item upgrade used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of The button will show the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require a variety of means which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and some new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level upgrade (agree with this) level, will cost less. This applies even if the items come from a different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
