EV Star
greenpower scooter Motor Company produces a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can accommodate a variety of bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's design is based on a clean sheet of paper, which allows for the best positioning of the battery pack and a lower center of gravity. This leads to better payload/range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated truck's class 4 design's one wall structure in the interior and higher insulation than traditional trucks allow for seamless sanitation, improved temperature control and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity, and an industry-leading payload to allow for zero emission goods or passenger transportation.
GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to seamlessly transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We had the opportunity to test drive the EV9 for a few hours on a local freeway, and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can block wind and road noise while driving on the highway. It rides smoothly over ruts and humps. The car's acceleration is surprisingly quick, and it features adjustable regenerative brakes that permit "one-pedal driving" simply by lifting off the accelerator.
The EV9 has a wide range and can be recharged within three hours or less at home, or Mobility Power Scooters by using any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes: electric power scooters eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode prioritizes the torque and cruise control and the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both modes are enjoyable to drive, and offer a unique experience for those who haven't driven an electrical vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, transit or Green Power Mobility Scooter Reviews, Writeablog.Net, microtransit buses, vanpools, or paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 all-electric cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the needs of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. They will be eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its demonstration tour later this year. We will be sure to provide more information on this amazing electric vehicle!
