Lightest Double Stroller
If you're looking for a light double buggy travel system stroller, weight and folded size are key factors to take into consideration. When you are not using it, select one that is easy to handle and small in size. This makes it easier to put it in your car trunk, and also to navigate through airport gates and international roads.
The best double buggy lightweight strollers feature an easy, light fold and self-standing mechanisms to reduce the strain on parents' bodies. Many also come with a wide range of seating configurations and can accommodate infant car seat carriers.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
The design is geared towards families who are constantly on moving. Lightweight, with a simple one-hand compact fold. All-terrain wheels and front suspension as well as a multi-position reclining seat will accommodate children as heavy as 50 lbs. Parent and child trays, large storage basket and 3-tier extended canopy with the ability to peek through the window for maximum sun protection.
The Cloud was awarded one of the lowest marks in our quality tests because it has a flimsy seat made of hard plastic and a style that feels dated. It's also more expensive than other strollers that are lighter and is therefore not a good choice when you're looking for a budget alternative.
It's not the tiniest stroller, but it's got enough features to make it worth considering. Its swiveling front wheel makes it easy to navigate on flat surfaces and it can jump curbs with ease unlike many other light strollers that drift off course when trying to do the similar thing. The Cloud's low, almost knee-high handle is a downside. It's not adjustable, and it's not adjustable. It's not easy to push it while your legs are dangling like that. And the lack of padding does not make it any easier.
In our tests, we found the Cloud to be simple to set up and open. It's a little more difficult to close, however. You have to slide a slider before you press a large white button to get it to collapse. This can be a hassle especially if you're juggling kids while you do it.
The Cloud has a small, but deep storage basket that could be used to fit a medium-sized diaper bag. It's not the greatest width, though, and you'll likely have to put something in it for the back to take it out. The Cloud comes with a child and parent tray with two cup holders each however, both are too narrow to accommodate larger cups or bottles.
The Kolcraft brand has been in existence since 1946 and is a third-generation family-owned business. Their first products were crib pads and diapers, but they now manufacture various baby products, including highchairs and strollers for infants, car seats and toys. The company is located in Chicago and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS is an extremely lightweight, minimalist double stroller that's great for traveling. It weighs only 18 lbs and is lighter than other single strollers. It folds flat to make it easy to carry and store. It also has independently reclining seats and large SPF 50 sunvisors that have a peekaboo window. The visors are adjustable to accommodate children of different heights. It also features a parking brake that is linked in one step, and is Disney-size approved.
The swivel wheel of the Jeep is also great for maneuvering over bumps and uneven terrain. However, this stroller doesn't accept car seats so your kids should be at least 6+ months old and have solid neck control to ride in the front seat. The stroller comes with a three-panel sun canopy and each seat comes with its own cupholder and snack tray.
Another stroller that is extremely light is the Valco Baby Snap Trend. It's a bit heavier than the Kolcraft Cloud Plus at 23 lbs, but it's thin and slim (26.5 inches wide!) and has a ton of luxurious details that make it perfect for travel. It has a super simple fold, is very maneuverable and can be tucked away in airplane overhead compartments and trunks easily.
Like the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double and Mountain Buggy Nano Duo, the Joovy Kooper X2 is another tri-fold ultralight double pram and pushchair stroller. It is similar to the Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS but it has a few distinct differences. It's a bit more expensive but has a better sun canopy and better maneuverability. It has a convenient strap for carrying and can hold children weighing up to 44 pounds per seat.
Summer 3D Pac for Infants CS+
If you're looking for a stroller that's light but packed with features you'll find it in the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+. It's not only crazy lightweight at 13 lbs but also offers plenty of storage space in the form of child and parent cup holders, a sippy cup for children pocket, a parent storage pocket and much more. The stroller is also compatible with a child's chair and comes with a brake with a flip-flop feature that is easily engaged. It's designed to adapt to your kids from a baby stroller to an adult stroller by attaching the car seat adapters (sold separately) and is suitable for children aged 6 months old and up.
The stroller is swivel-wheel only and no locking feature which means it won't be the best option for terrain that is steep or rocky. It maneuvers well on paved sidewalks and other smooth surfaces it's an excellent option for most families.
This stroller is one of the lightest double strollers, with full-size features in an elegant compact design. It folds easily by one hand and then stored in the trunk or garage. It can also be used as a travel stoller, and is compatible without additional adapters with most car seats.
The Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is unique from other strollers for travel because it features two separate seats that can each hold up to 100 pounds. The seats have individual leg rests, as well as three-panel canopy that has the ability to flip out sunvisors and a peekaboo window.
The seats are padded for your infant's comfort. They have a 5-point padded safety harness that adjusts to three height positions. Each seat comes with an infant cushion that is perfect for babies. The cup holders for parent and child, the cellphone holders and the big storage basket will be adored by parents. The stroller can also be equipped with the Yoyo+ Board, which transforms it into a tandem stroller.
Joovy X2 Kooper
The Kooper X2 is an excellent choice for parents who want an easy-to-use double stroller that can accommodate two children. The sling-style seats are comfortable and provide the same amount of headroom. It also allows children to be seated together. In contrast to other strollers that are side-by-side this one Kooper X2 offers a fully reclined seat that's ideal for napping. Its recline mechanism is simple to operate but it isn't completely flat. Children who are taller may notice a dangling leg when sitting in a reclined position. It also has a huge canopy that we found to be more effective at blocking the sun's rays than other strollers in our evaluation of the top double strollers.
The stroller is light enough to navigate through door frames, which was a big issue for us with some other models we tried. It folds easily and the handlebars are located close to the ground. Its only downside is its small storage space, which is uncomfortable when filled with kids' toys.
Joovy is a family-owned company, creates innovative, functional and high-quality baby products. Their line includes innovative bottles in our best baby bottle review, fascinating strollers like the Joovy Zoom X2 Double and a unique rain cover that is compatible with a variety of popular strollers. The company's products are moderately priced, and they often have fun designs that appeal to kids.
In our tests on double strollers, we evaluate several factors to determine how easy the stroller is to use, such as how easy it is to set up and fold, adjust the safety harness and close and open the brakes, lift and carry the twin stroller side by side like you would put it into a car trunk, and then install and remove an infant car seat (if necessary). We also evaluated the durability and strength and also whether each product has a tray for parents that can accommodate both child trays.
The Joovy Kooper X2 earned the highest score for ease of use in our latest update of the best double strollers guide, and one of the highest scores in our Strollers test program overall. Its simple-to-use design features one-hand recline that is tilt-free and a canopy that rotates forward for shade, a ventilation mesh that you can see through when it's tilted, individual kid trays with built-in cup holders, zipper pockets for parents as well as a huge storage basket.
