Upgrading gear increases its base stats, and sometimes enhances its extras. The value of these upgrade is determined by the levels of gear, their requirements, and the number of random augmentations are applied.

The most powerful racial Shield Razortail, for example, is often upgraded to increase its lightning absorption capability in PvP, and/or to provide additional defenses to missile-based build in the PvM. This makes it more exchangeable over the unupgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to reroll an acquired item like a weapon, armor or rings. The item is replaced with an identical item and comes with different benefits. Reroll tokens are an economical method of upgrading equipment. They don't preserve the original item's level and any money wasted won't get compensated.

Survivors may acquire reroll tokens through several means like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be located in crates and chests, or purchased from the market at a cost of 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter an attribute of a piece of equipment that could include increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.

Players can roll equipment with three aspects: physical power, spell power and health. Physical power upgrades boost the damage caused by melee and weapons and spell power upgrades mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give players additional health.

There are three kinds of reroll tokens: upgrade, rare, and legendary. Each upgrade takes an item to a higher quality and requires an upgraded reroll token in order to produce it. Upgrades with enhanced capabilities require a common item, while rare upgrades require a special or a legendary item, and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.

Unlike other special tokens and markers that are placed on action spaces the reroll marker stays on the spot until the next Success result is repeated. This helps you not waste upgrades.

Blueprints appear as envelopes at the start of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them with Interact. When they are opened, they display an image and description of the appliance or ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged to purchase a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's shop for a small amount of money.

In the course of a run, blueprints can be transferred between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool based on selected Franchise Cards. This changes which blueprints the restaurant's shop offers for rerolls and which are available in the Non-droppable Pool.

Growthstones

In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to upgrade armor, weapons and other items. These are special stones that increase the quality of an item by increasing its stats and abilities. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the major towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell them for a price. In addition, players can get these stones by completing daily contracts.

To upgrade equipment players must first identify the appropriate item, and then click the "level up" button. The screen will show a summary of the item's levels and what it will be after being upgraded. It will also display the amount of Growth Stones required to do so. The amount of Growth Stones needed to upgrade the item is determined by its rarity. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires a single Growth Stone.

After deciding on what to upgrade, players must select the number of green Growth Stones they wish to utilize and pay the appropriate cost. Once the player has satisfied the requirements, they can hit the upgrade button and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. The upgrade process can take from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the rarity of the item.

The upgrade process also is risk-free and will not affect the item's longevity. This makes the system an ideal way for players to gain a significant advantage in combat without straining their bank accounts. Additionally, players can transfer the experience and advancement of an upgraded item to a new item by clicking the "transfer" tab.

For new players, it can be difficult to obtain Growth Stones. However, there are many methods to obtain them, including completing contracts and purchasing them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, collecting them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or obtaining them from reward chests during the Ancient Arena season. Players can also break down the higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.

Leveling

Leveling is an option that allows you to boost the effectiveness of armor and weapons. You can also upgrade trinkets as well as helms. It is accomplished by the combination of an item with upgrade components at the Upgrade Station and paying a fee in Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The upgrade components will be used up and the item will gain an upgrade to a higher level. This process can be repeated until the maximum level of an item upgrade is reached.

Items that have upgraded stats will display a blue icon next to their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments, cannot be applied to more than one item at once. Each upgrade component requires the purchase of a certain amount of items and a minimum level of equipment.

The Upgrade Station comes with two slots: the left is where players can place equipment that needs that they wish to upgrade, and the right side shows a glimpse of what the equipment will look like when it reaches its next level. Once the player has enough items by pressing the yellow arrow, it will start the upgrade process.

An item of equipment can be upgraded up to five times. Each time it is upgraded the base stats of an item will increase by a small amount. The maximum level of an item is 19.

When an item reaches its highest level, upgrades are no longer available for it. When a piece of equipment is upgraded to a certain track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track ) they will be discounted.

Upgrade components are a kind of equipment that can slot into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and weapons to give an additional effect or bonus when the equipment is equipped. They can be purchased through vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced by acquiring new ones. However, this will cause the old upgrade to be destroyed.

Requirements

Item upgrades give players the ability to increase certain stats on armor and weapons that they currently have equipped. For example, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" boosts the base defense, and also gives an additional 20% chance to block. The DPS "Wildfire", on the other hand increases damage to weapons.

Upgrades can be beneficial to certain items, but they are not because they boost stats. They are more valuable to players if they can get an exact roll. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example is highly sought-after by melee PvP communities and could be worth as much as 20-50 times that of the unupp'd version.
