World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrade allows players to increase the level of weapons and armor that are equippable. This increases the stats and can also add buffs or rerolls on an affix.
It is important to remember that while you can upgrade your magic and common equipment, it is generally not worth the effort. Unique and rare equipment will soon surpass upgraded magic and common equipment.
Cost
If a player wants to upgrade an item, they must spend Gold to do so. The cost to upgrade an item varies based on the item's current level and type of upgrade. Upgrades to weapons are generally less expensive than upgrades to armor, since weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required increases when the item is upgraded to a higher level.
Upgraded items also come with improved stats that can improve its performance in different ways. This could include boosting its attack strength or critical strike chance. In addition an upgraded item might be able to provide extra bonuses to its equipped unit. These upgrades are able to be used for a variety of reasons for example, to increase the overall power of an individual or group unit. They can also affect the overall the gameplay.
Items can be upgraded by any item upgrader NPC in the game. Typically NPCs can be found in capital cities or major questing areas. Players can also find item upgraders when they visit dungeons with high-level bosses and by chatting with NPCs in their garrisons for their faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to upgrade the level of armor, weapons and trinkets. This process is very similar to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the appropriate currency players must visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.
Upgrades to items can be costly, especially when it is related to armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path you select, each item level increase will cost Valorstones or Crests. The costs can be prohibitive for those who do not have the resources, or are unwilling to grind.
Fortunately, the game lets players play a reroll of an upgraded item by using a special tool in the menu for items. This option exchanges the upgraded item for an equivalent version at level 1 that has an additional set of bonus effects. This can be useful to improve the roll of items which are already upgraded. However, it can also be a waste.
Requirements
Upgrading is the process of increasing the level of the items that are equippable like trinkets, weapons and armor. This boosts their effectiveness and makes them more effective in battle. Players can upgrade their gear by spending appropriate currencies at an item upgrader NPC. However, players must be aware that certain upgrades have specific requirements.
The initial upgrades only boost the base item's stats by one level, however later upgrades offer more substantial enhancements. For instance upgrading a weapon from three to level six can increase the weapon's damage by two levels. In addition, the upgraded item will be awarded bonus stats, which is based on its tier. This bonus is a mix of a guaranteed substat as well as random generated stats that will change from upgrade to upgrade.
A player can roll an upgraded item using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a brand new one. The new item comes with a distinct set of bonuses, and is of a lower level of the item. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to note that the rerolled item will not have its original level or even a fraction of its resources.
Rerolling some upgraded items is only possible if the item that was upgraded was Epic Rare, Rare or Unique. Additionally, exceptional items can be rerolled but the original stats are replaced by a flat-rate bonus. This means that rerolling a Rare item will result in a Normal version of the same type, whereas rolling an Epic item will result in an elite version of the same type.
Upgraded items can come with additional modifiers that can improve their performance and improve their stats. These additional modifiers do not come with the upgrade cost. They can be purchased at the Trading Post, or through other players. They can be earned through doing specific missions within the game.

You will also require various quantities of Minerals and Erons.
Time is a major factor.
Items upgrades can be used to boost the power of your equipment and ship without the need to upgrade them. It's crucial to know the benefits and costs prior to making the investment of time or money.
Each upgrade increases an item's base stat by a certain amount, and also gives a chance to gain a bonus substat increase. The random substat could range from a small boost to a much larger boost. It is recommended to concentrate on the most effective items in the slot first, as they'll give you a bigger return for your investment.
You can see the time it takes to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting the weapon, ship or accessory. The upgrade window will show the estimated completion time and the progress. In some cases you might be capable of speeding up the process by using a Glyph.

This does not apply to legendary equipment or upgrades that can only be retrieved using an Upgrade extractor or by returning the item to the Karma merchant.

This process is based on Growthstones and Sollant however there is an 80% chance of getting an upgraded item within just one cycle. The higher the level an item attains, the greater its boosted stat value and the more items it is able to upgrade into.
Upgrade components can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give an attribute benefit or an additional effect when the equipment is being used. Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. Players can also find upgraded items using an Upgrade extractor, or salvage using a salvage of a higher tier kit. Glyphs, which are placed in tools for gathering are able to be swapped without any restrictions.
A player can reroll an item into a different upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button with an arrow for reroll. This will change the layout of the game and let players select up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item that is recycled will be exchanged for an item of level 1 similar to it. Recycled items will not keep their level, or the resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded up to level nine, while common items are only upgraded up to level six. The upgrade of an Best item upgrader is added to its base statistics. This means that they will not increase more after a certain point.
