WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item level upgrade upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.
The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other items. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current Item level upgrade level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an Best item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is even if the items are from an entirely different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type or equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another significant change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
