Costs

The second is the cost of the materials needed for an upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. The amount of these items needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take 8 hours, depending on the magnitude of the upgrade. This calculation determines the latest Armor Class bonus, damage dice, as well as other important stats. In some instances, the upgrade will grant additional perks that can be selected from a list of available benefits.

Rarely, the benefits acquired will cost more than one perk slot; in these situations, the upgrade will only replace the most expensive perks. The upgrader may also make other modifications to the item level upgrade, for example, changing the type of damage it deals to its weapon, or adding or removing a operative or unwieldy option. The cost of these changes is determined by the new ilvl of the item, and it may require a specific material, such as adamantine alloy.
