Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best method to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This lets you upgrade your gear without having depend on costly drops or trades. This article will teach you how to upp your items effectively.
Upgrades in equipment can add an increase to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components make your weapons and armour better. You can locate them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors, or finding them in the form of item upgrader-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment with them, or through a high-tier salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items upgrade components, upgrade components aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item upgrade to be upgraded, however, they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level or experience gained by upgrading existing weapons or gear. They can be forged for additional bonuses. For instance, a created glyph can increase the chances of upgrading its target, while the boost upgrade can boost the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.
By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will let you bind it to an item. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component has a different experience multiplier, which affects how much more experience an item will gain when it upgrades with that component. For instance, organic components have a more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you reach the multiplier of experience for the next level of the weapon or gear, then move to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that it is possible to receive. The number of upgrades available is determined by the rank that can be upgraded and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon with tier 10. However, the most popular upgrade for weapons is a tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and the upgrade will increase the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade a set piece or weapon is that it will be given a +1 increase to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item upgrader kit is upgraded one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also increase the base damage of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain types of builds. Weapons cannot be upgraded for an increased maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrades can be a great method to increase the value of a set and unique items, but it's important to note that they might not be more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.
If an Item Upgrader Kit you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus it is able to be rerolled once and the guarantee will be reset to 0. The same power dies are used to roll an item, just as it would be used to level it up. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each type. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased with Gold. The NPC will also give a special reward for every tier that is completed of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a second time and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
If the player has enough to reroll tokens, they are able to roll any item they've acquired during the game. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced by the same level in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The new item will come with the same bonus features like the first, however the statistics will also differ.
Players can alter the identification of their equipment as well as rolling it again by interacting with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identity from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while retaining its base stats and required attributes. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who are wearing the gear.
The player can also upgrade the level of an item for any equipment equipped. This is accomplished by interacting with an upgrader NPC and getting upgrade components. This will cost a set amount of crests as well as Valorstones according to the upgrade track and type. For weapons, each upgrade will add an additional 5% to its damage.
The upgrade of an item can make it more powerful however, it can also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to balance the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while others need to be upgraded to maximize their potential. For instance, a player might want to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can be.
The main reason people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is that they're trying to obtain a particular weapon or character that they aren't able to obtain. These items are time-consuming and costly to obtain, and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only options are to invest real money or grind for a long time. This is why rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. However, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was intended to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but since gear in general drops fairly quickly and is only upgraded after a certain amount of levels and you'll typically replace the item before it gets old enough. It's not worth upgrading items with gem sockets, as the power of the gemstone will outweigh any increase in the level of.
When you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll see a small window with the item's upgrade template and the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the level of the item. The costs will vary between the armor and weapons, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to an upgraded item, and also the current base ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated based on the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. In addition the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For example an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8%.
In addition to the base ilvl increase the item will also get upgrades in other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block and parry rating. These upgrades are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the item is able to receive when it is leveled can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All weapons and armor that are not practice equipment get these stats once they've been leveled up. The value of these additional stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled weapon or piece of armor is able to command more in trade value than unupp'd versions. This is also true for other pieces of armor such as tiaras and circlets.
