Anna found the CoZee to be a safe, comfortable place to sleep for her infant. She was pleased that it didn't rock like other models, which meant it wasn't waking her in the night when she was trying to comfort her baby for feedings. She also enjoyed that the side lowered down so she didn't have to reach out over her partner to pull the baby out for night time feeds.
The CoZee is available in charcoal and oak and is a chic addition to the bedroom. It's more an expensive piece of furniture than many of the other cribs we've tested, and can appear rather utilitarian. It's also relatively lightweight at just 11kg, and comes with a carry bag so you can take it on vacation or if moving home. The only additional items you'll need to buy are a waterproof sheet and a safety strap for co-sleeping. The instructions and images are easy to follow when you first open the box.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bedside bassinet that allows parents to feel more connected to their child while they sleep. It adjusts up and down and slides through three positions to fit beside the bed of the parent, or in the corner of the room, so that baby is always close at hand. The mesh siding allows air to flow through, and allows you to see your baby easily. You can also keep additional pajamas or other items in the large bedside crib basket beneath.
In contrast to other bedside crib options, the Iora folds flat and comes with a carry-on bag so that it can be taken wherever. It was easy to move from room to room, and our mum testers felt it was the right size for a bedside crib. They also appreciated the large storage basket, perfect for storing spare bedding or nappies.
This is a great choice for parents who wish to sleep together, but don't wish to share their bed. If one of the partners suffers from mobility issues such as arthritis or back pain. Our mom testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their child in the Iora and that it had an adjustable reflux incline that helped to reduce gas.
Our mothers are also thrilled that the mattress is in line with NICE guidelines that state to put the baby in the crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys, pillows, etc). The mattress is also firm and comfortable for babies, and sheets are readily available. It isn't as light as other cribs for bedside use however and if you're looking for something lighter and easier to move around, consider one of the other options on our list.
