The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will enable fleets to easily make the transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We were able to test drive the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours and found it to be simple to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The ride is smooth on bumps and power mobility scooter ruts, while the EV9 does an excellent job of suppressing road noise and wind on the highway. The acceleration is surprisingly fast and the car has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by simply lifting the accelerator.
The EV9 has a wide range and can be charged in just three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two operating modes including eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode prioritizes the torque, cruise control and handling while sport mode maximizes speed. Both modes are enjoyable to drive and provide an unforgettable experience for those who have never driven an electrical vehicle before.
GreenPower offers a variety of other electric vehicles that include a multi-purpose all-electric minibus dubbed the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, micro-transit or transit bus, vanpool or a paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star buses per month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration, which is looking to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming.
