WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that are used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader mod upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item level upgrade as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Upgraders for items can be found at many locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item Level upgrade for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items are from another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that crests are only available for gear with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
