Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items, Continued, allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item level upgrade or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like eth Titans have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or extra impact when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or received from chests and missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the user must choose it and click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary element or material required to make that happen.
There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be put in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of item names. For instance the addition of a Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades to gather tools If a player replaces one glyph by another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade costs across several items.
If an item is completed in this way, it is capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it will be able to receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will only have two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is located in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item does not attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will have a lower chance of success.
Engineers may employ a level to compare the height of the building to a known location, such as a benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high standard of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a very important element of the game and can boost the strength, damage or other attributes. You can do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item upgrader kit or another similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item level upgrade will determine the amount of level filled.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This can be either good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can have a unique bonus that boosts the item's power by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you improve a product, the greater the chance of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also comes with a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and achieve higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They could be of various dimensions, have no elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while others are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense values and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the stats of the item when compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.
Some set items are upgraded to meet their unique procs, which can be particularly useful in some builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the Best item upgrader and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended since it will give a substantial increase in their performance. This will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
