Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, also called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment provides an increase in the linearity of the stats of a particular.
Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved through various methods such as the use of upgrade components and also increasing an item's mark level or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to boost their stats.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in the world as well as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are items that can be slotted into equipment. Most equipment has slots to upgrade, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.
There are a variety of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be put in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than those that are equipment type specific. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting material.
Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you don't have enough of either.
The upper-right corner displays the number of upgrade components required to create a particular item. The price of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item. However you can cut down on the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a vendor, or trading them with other players.
Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix, such as an insignia or rune, and many are upgraded by an upgrade suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a powerful instrument for communicating visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, making them even more effective in communicating a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain range. This is clearly displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the actual amount by the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum amount it is able to do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the product you are in awe of.
Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can remove any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.
When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to add an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is useful for players who suffer many hits from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes they use on their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained through a variety of methods like mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player a random affix that is usually better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon that can be upgraded to provide better damage or other perks.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they still qualify to receive upgrades. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, which means higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.
In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. A reroll will roll the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but users must be aware that it could lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls used to raise the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective on Diadems and rings, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.
Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to allow people to pay for it using money or food items that will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item upgrader kit. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade that increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of a stat. In addition you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. After this, the new item will retain its iLevel but it will benefit from the Upgrade Item effects of the upgraded type of item.
When you upgrade items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases the best roll will result from glyphs, but there are also opportunities for greater or special rolls. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a special item type, then it has a chance of receiving a higher level.
Upgrades can be expensive, especially if you are upgrading gear from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on the base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item could attain the highest level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level however. In general, the upgrade effect is increased a value of +3.
The iLevel also changes in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For instance an item upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an outstanding one will have the chance to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
