World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points and also add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats, such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a unit. This bonus may be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and current level. For instance an item level upgrade with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade item while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also alter the stats of the base. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative consequences. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their stats. This will increase the defense of a helm or chest while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will get when upgraded, along with their relative values. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will roll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor could make a huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult areas. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you can get from each point of health you have and it's crucial to improve your armor as often as you can.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive a full on raid with a few friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear to fight the final boss, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also get some benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to let you stealthy battle some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, if consumed, give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. Additionally the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust the potions.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a table or the chest of the Alchemist. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion used and the item upgrades's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new trinket. You can upgrade their trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the old trinket, however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
When the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are an attractive alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the Best item upgrade-in slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they will not replace in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade players should also take into account the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus.
