Path of Exile Item Upgrades
item upgrades - what is it worth, are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of damage or more AD or even more affixes.
Often times however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear due to their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be applied to weapons and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of games and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components in them using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The amount of damage that an armored piece or weapon can absorb depends on the level of its upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of an item of armor will increase as it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. However, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, which will cause it to be heavier than before.
There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have different effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an additional number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade that an item upgrader mod will receive, as shown below.
A few of the upgrades are also magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is shown by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees in order to be used. They are referred to as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are updated daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest option to improve your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can provide significant improvement in stats and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.
Upgrading a piece of armor to max upgrade level will dramatically increase its defense values but the wearer must be aware that putting more weight on it will drastically reduce its agility and speed. Therefore, it is typically not recommended to upgrade armor pieces beyond +9, because the increase in defense is usually not worth the extra weight and power costs of the upgrades required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of specific aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Some weapons also have special upgrades that improve their innate capabilities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).
Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade to apply. They can be obtained by finishing side quests, killing a certain number of monsters or bosses or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. The cost of the upgrades will be less if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets was a bit different. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. You're better off buying gear with minimal upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. They will also have a better chance of bringing you the most prestigious benefits and blessings.
The majority of players will make the most of upgrades to weapons they use most frequently to help them level up quicker. Players should also upgrade the weapons their squadmates utilize to increase their power. Shepard for instance, should upgrade the M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve the stats of a character or to provide additional effects on weapons and armor. They can be made through a process called jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem and several chemicals at a table. The higher the level of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or by collecting Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can improve the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Based on the level of the jewel it can provide different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
All tiers of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain these. Jewels can be replaced with another one without damaging the original. However you can only swap out one jewel in a piece of equipment once.
Utilizing more jewels in a move will make it feel smoother and is usually used to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. In addition to improving performance, the diamonds create an area that is stronger than metal, so repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause harm as easily.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the look of your weapons and shields. These glyphs offer a small boost in power and can be traded, but they are not guaranteed to appear as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded at the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be found by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that provide many tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. They are available in the starter area as loot or as personal story rewards. They can also be obtained through vendors and after doing road interaction. They may also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player is able to unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but valuable boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player will then be able to acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar manner as they did with weapons and armor. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and only works with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets also provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the character is not fighting. This allows the hero to be more effective when not active, and can also help fill in the void of a solid team or any slots from the talent tree that normally are filled with hero's ideal stats.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item upgrade. It is better to upgrade one important stat instead of two subpar ones.
Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one prior to the start of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand they will select a green or a pink ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players can also find other trinkets that form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story. For example, completing the main quest of a chapter or beating the boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
