World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item upgrade up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of the base. While this is usually an excellent thing, it can have some negative consequences as well. For items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could render them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.
Armor items can be upgraded to improve their stats. This can increase the defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it could change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade item template for a weapon shows the new stats it will get when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike for 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrader kit (this contact form) menu using the arrows that circle. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. The more defense your character has, the more value you will get from every point of health you have, so it's important to improve your armor as often as you can.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all and each one requires you to complete a unique side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in cold environments with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to survive a battle with your friends.
You can't upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear to fight the final boss, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also get some perks for your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets so that you can sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in the Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example, now have a duration zero, not the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the Best item upgrade. The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the contents and refills the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but is not important such as a Thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the old trinket however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they are not needed which allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and other equipment that they won't be replacing in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm, and shoulders.
When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still less expensive than buying the new one.
