Robots That Vacuum and Mop

robots that vacuum and mop (published here) provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its modest price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only issue it has is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks are required including emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood, though we would like to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. This year's model has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might overlook.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then change its course automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I've found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot vacuum cleaners best passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. In addition, the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. It can also get under low-profile furnishings which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available, but it packs in many extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other best robot cleaner automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't offered on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
