The amount of upgrades you do will determine the amount of extras you get. Each upgrade will increase the number of extras by a maximum of 3 points. Additionally, every upgrade will also boost the main stat by +1.

Costs

Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.

The items used are typically either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing certain Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). These items can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.
