WoW Upgrades - The Item level upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item upgrades is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true even if the items come from a different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the type or equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. It is Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
