WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases Item Level upgrade level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader mod upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar Best item upgrader will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgrader kit upgraders in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which displays a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Upgraders for items can be found at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less, even if they belong to another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the type or equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
Using these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them wisely. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
