WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the Item Level Upgrade used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using a button, which will display an item upgrader mod's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is even if the items are from a different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade item is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item upgrader kit level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
