Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.
Upgrades to equipment provide an increase in the item's stats. This bonus scales according to the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the parts that make your weapons and armor more effective. You can acquire them by destroying enemies, finding them in spheres of items or purchasing them from karma sellers. They can also be salvaged from equipment that contains them, or through the highest-quality salvage kits such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item, but they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to increase the level of an item upgrader mod that can be upgraded or they can be used to increase the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. A glyph that is crafted can boost the upgrade chances of its target while a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of the weapon.
You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a different experience multiplier, which determines the amount of experience an item will gain when it is upgraded by that component. For instance, organic components give an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, and then move on to mechanical upgrades.
Each item has a maximum upgrade number that is available for. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a gun with tier 6 and a armor upgrade for tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that share the benefit of. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and each upgrade boosts the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. Following upgrades, the primary stats are increased even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades to a weapon may increase its damage base, which may be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons can't be upgraded to have a greater defense level than their base. It's possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, but they might not always be superior to a high-level Runeword.
If the item you're upgrading comes with a guaranteed bonus, it can be rerolled once and the guarantee will be reset to 0. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as bringing an Best item upgrade up, but the new item will have various bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and are available for purchase with Gold. The NPC will also provide an extra reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
If players have enough rerolling tokens, they can roll any item they've acquired during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced with an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased from the store for small amounts of in-game currency, but they are not refundable. The upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the original one however, its stats will differ also.
In addition to rerolling items, players can also change the identification of any equipment by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from a weapon to armor or vice versa, while retaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who are wearing the gear.
Players can also boost the level of their item on any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade components and communicating with the NPC who upgrades the item. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, item type and number of crests. Each step will give 5percent more damage to weapons.
Upgrades can boost the power of an item, however they also decrease its quality. It is therefore essential to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading and some will require to be upgraded to realize their potential. For instance one player might wish to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can be.
The primary reason why people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they're trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they aren't able to obtain. Getting these items can be expensive and time-consuming, and the RNG gods do not always want to play ball. The only alternatives are to spend money or grind extensively. Rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I think it was meant to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but because gear in general drops fairly quickly and is only upgraded after a certain amount of levels, you'll usually replace the item before it becomes too old. It's not worth upgrading items with gem sockets since the power of the stone will outweigh any increment in the ilvl.
If you click on the upgrade option on an item, you will be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template of the item as well as the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the level of the item. The cost will differ between the armor and weapons, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to the upgraded item. It it also lists the current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8%.
The item will receive upgrades to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damage, and block, parry, and dodge rating in addition to the base level. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the Best item upgrade is able to receive when it is leveled can be seen below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to practice equipment, all other items and armor get these same stats when upgraded. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command a much higher price than a non-upp’d version. The same is true for other armor pieces, such as circlets and tiaras.
