World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.
If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.
Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.
You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the Best item upgrade way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs as well as some rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player improves a piece of equipment the original item will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can use up lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as the Best item upgrader version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state and the player having to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item level upgrade isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item upgrader also loses any bonuses it earned like the chance to crit attack damage, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or reloading speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to the value of the base item. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs listed above.
