The Iora is a bedside bassinet that allows parents to feel more connected to their infant as they sleep. It adjusts upwards and downwards and slides through three positions to fit beside the bed of the parent, or in the corner of the room, so that the baby is always close at hand. The mesh siding lets air flow through, and allows you to quickly see your baby. And you can stow extra pajamas and supplies in the large storage basket underneath.
The Iora is a bedside crib that is smaller and can fold flat. It also comes with a travel case to allow it to be carried anywhere. Our mum testers were able to move it from room to room and believed it was a great size for a small bedside cot (Morphomics site) that was not too big or too small. The large storage basket is ideal to store bedding and nappies.
This is a great choice for parents who wish to co-sleep but don't want to share their bed. Or if one of the parents has mobility issues, such as back pain or arthritis. Our mums who tested it were thrilled to be able to easily access their baby in the Iora and that it had an option to have a reflux incline which helped to reduce gas.
Our moms are thrilled that the mattress adheres to NICE guidelines. These are to place the baby in a Moses basket or crib on its own without toys, blankets or pillows. They also say that the mattress is comfortable and firm for babies and is easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as other smaller bedside cribs, though, so if you want something lighter and more portable, consider one of the other options in our list.
