Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can boost the stats of a piece of equipment and at times even add additional features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random enhancements that are applied.
The racial Shield elite Razortail for instance, is often upgraded to increase its lightning absorption function in PvP and/or add additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more tradable over the original version that is not upgraded.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens let you buy a new item, like a weapon, armor or ring. This swaps the current item level upgrade for another similar one, with a different set of extra bonuses. Reroll tokens are an efficient method of upgrading equipment. They don't maintain the original item's level and any money wasted won't get compensated.
The survivors can acquire reroll tokens via a variety of methods like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They are also available in crates and chests, or purchase them from the store for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change the attribute of a piece equipment for example, increasing its damage.
Players can roll their equipment into three categories: physical power, magic power, and health. Upgrades to physical power increase the damage caused by weapons and melee attack and spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give players an additional level of health.
There are three types of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare and legendary. Each upgrade takes an item to a better quality, with the requirement of a higher-quality reroll token order to make it. Upgrades require a common Best item upgrade. Rare upgrades require an item that is exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
The marker that rerolls, unlike special tokens or markers placed on action areas, stays on the spot until the next success is rerolled. This lets you not waste upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the start of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them with Interact. When they are opened they show a complete description and icon of the appliance or ingredient that they correspond to. The restaurant's shop can swap blueprints for a new appliance or ingredient for an amount of money.
This means that blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool (which is the default pool) and the Non-staple Pool during a run. This affects which blueprints the restaurant's shop sells to reroll and which are available in the non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
Weapons and armor, as well as accessories can be upgraded in Throne and Liberty using Growth Stones. These are special stones that increase the quality of an item by increasing its stats and attributes. These items can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the major towns. They can also purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a price. They are also available to players who sign daily contracts.
To upgrade equipment players must first identify the appropriate item, and then click the "level up" button. This will show a list of the item's current level and what it will be after being upgraded. It will also display the amount of Growth Stones required to do so. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade the gear will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires a single Growth Stone.
After selecting the item to upgrade the player must select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay for the cost. After the player has met the requirements, they can select the upgrade option and apply the Growth Stones. This will increase the item upgrader kit's level a certain percentage. The upgrade process can last from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the rarity of the item.
The upgrade process is safe and doesn't impact the longevity of the item. This makes the system an ideal way for players to gain a significant advantage in combat without putting stress on their bank accounts. Moreover players can transfer experience and progress of an upgraded item to a new one by clicking on the "transfer" tab.
The process of getting Growth Stones in Throne and Liberty can be a challenge for novice players. However, there are many methods to obtain them, including contract completion and purchasing them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, collecting them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or obtaining them from reward chests that are available during the Ancient Arena season. Additionally, players can take apart higher-level Growth Stones to create multiple lower-level ones.
Leveling
Leveling is a feature that lets you increase the effectiveness of armor and weapons. You can also upgrade trinkets as well as helms. The Upgrade Station allows you to combine an item with upgrade materials, and pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The upgrade components will be used up and the item will be upgraded to an upgraded level. This process continues until the item reaches its maximum level.
Items with upgraded stats will have an icon of blue next to their slot. Contrary to enchantments upgrade components cannot be stacked with each other, but can only be added to a single item at a time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a certain number of items to be applied in addition to an appropriate level for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left, players can add an item to be upgraded. On the right, a preview shows what the gear will look like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow after the player has enough materials will begin the upgrade process.
A piece of equipment can be upgraded a maximum of five times. Each time it is upgraded, the base stats of an item will be increased by only a tiny amount. The maximum level of an item upgrader kit is 19.
When an item reaches its maximum capacity and is no longer upgraded, it does not have the option of upgrading. When a piece of equipment is upgraded to a certain track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer) upgrades for that track will have discounted prices.
Upgrade components are a kind of equipment that can be inserted into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and weapons to provide an extra effect or attribute bonus while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, but doing so will destroy the previous upgrade, with the exception of for glyphs that can be removed and replaced at will.
Requirements
Upgrades to items enable players to increase certain attributes of armor and weapons they already have equipped. The requirements for upgrading an item differ depending on the type of item, but you'll typically need Dilithium and the number of Upgrade tokens.
The items can be upgraded by adding item upgrade components to equipment and weapons. These will provide additional effects or an increase in item level. These upgrades can be gotten from various sources in the game, such as crafting, bought at the Trading Post or karma vendors or looted from bosses or raids, or dropped from dungeons. Once an upgrade element is inserted into an item, it isn't able to be removed or substituted without restriction, however the glyphs that are used in gathering tools can be swapped without limitation.
Upgrades to an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. In addition, some upgrade components have additional modifiers that can increase the stats of an item.
For instance, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" boosts the base defense, and also provides an additional 20% chance of blocking. The dps "Wildfire" however increases damage from weapons.
Some items benefit from being upgraded less for their increased stats, but more for the fact that it allows players to gain the most value out of a perfect roll on the item. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example, is highly valued by melee PvP communities and could be worth 20-50 times that of the unupp'd version.
When you select an upgrade component to slot into an item, the game will display an in-game window that lists the required requirements. This includes the type of item (either Weapon or Armor), the level of the item as well as the upgrade Token required, and the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.
The game will place an item in your inventory when you've completed the prerequisites for an upgrade. The progress bar will update to show you how far to getting the upgrade completed. You can also verify the status of an upgrade by visiting any item upgrader NPC.
