World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will gain an additional 3% of the previous damage for every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the item to the upgrade (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using normal methods.
A boost upgrade items can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon a reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.
In the endgame, you will often find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Utilizing Glyphs Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. For instance an Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When a player upgrades the equipment they have, the base item will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a disadvantage, as it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, with a level 1 base and a different set of extra bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it shouldn't be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. The item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item level upgrade is extremely valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to revert back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients for upgrading.
