Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or obtained from chests or missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the necessary component or materials.
There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be put in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For example, adding a Glyph could transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from the previous versions. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across several items.
This will enable the item to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it is able to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available is determined by the Best item upgrader's kind. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item is not able to get to its maximum level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers may utilize a level to measure the height of the building to a known point, like an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with a high degree of precision and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically improve an item's strength or damage, as well as other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item upgrader kit or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.
Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This could be a positive or a negative thing depending on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded Best item upgrader can have a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item upgrader kit, the higher your chance of getting an exclusive bonus.
The game also features several sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on a unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can offer a quicker path to a powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game faster.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can be different sizes, contain no elements, or only contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They also aid in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of upgradeable set items. Some items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons don't improve the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have many armor pieces or weapons.
Set items can be upgraded to include special tools that are suitable for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to par with the different tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. It will show the item upgrader kit's attributes, along with the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant increase in their power. It will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated look.
