The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It could be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. In our testing the i7+ was more agile and faster than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Best Amazon Vacuum Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom."
