Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver, even in tight places.
If you're looking for an easy ride in your baby, select models with 360deg front wheels that swivel. They are, however, susceptible to punctures. Be prepared with an repair kit.
Sturdy frame
New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies, that emblem of the noughties, which were more expensive than common sense, are in steep decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easier to drive and look elegant.
The bigger the wheels are, the better your buggy will cope with bumpy and uneven pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front allow you to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with a newborn baby and a toddler and found it extremely sturdy. It was able to handle cobbles, grass, and rough pavements, as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said that it felt solid to push and very stable on difficult terrain. The tyres, that are inflatable and require to be pumped up regularly and have a suspension built-in. This was extremely comfortable for my children.
The shape and size of the seat is another aspect to think about. It should be big enough for your child's comfort. You will also need it to recline so that they can lie flat. Certain three-wheel buggies have the option of reclining completely, while others allow a parent facing one.
A great choice for tackling off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. This buggy is ideal for a single child as early as birth and can be adjusted to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for babies and toddlers from age four and comes with a bumper bar, raincover, improved 5-point harness and large cushioned seat unit. The storage options are great as well, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets in the hood, and an attractive pouch at the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels mean your buggy will have more stability on rough terrain - perfect for off-road buggies. In addition, they make it easier to manoeuvre the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have the front wheels that swivel to assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability at which they can be pushed. This is particularly useful when you crash into trees or a kerb. The front wheel will lift slightly to keep it from hitting it.
Many 3 wheeled buggy wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres. This means they are able to handle a variety of terrains and are far more flexible than 4-wheeler. They're also lighter. They are prone to punctures, so you will require an repair kit and spare inner tube in your arsenal.
Some of our favourite 3 wheel double stroller-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. These buggies, as per MFM's Kath, have larger wheels which, she says "perform well on gravel roads, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to climb or descend kerbs. The buggies also have suspension that according to Kath "smooths out bumps extremely effectively".
The downside of having bigger wheels is that they make buggies quite large and can struggle to fit through narrow spaces. This is problematic if you intend to use it as a jogger or have to squeeze through doorways that are narrow when traveling. Luckily, most models have small folding options that let you take off the front wheels for more compact storage.
Easy to Manoeuvre
A three-wheeler can be more maneuverable for a child. The way they are built ensures that the front wheels spin at a whim and are really maneuverable, making them ideal for difficult terrains like cobbles, parks or bumpy pavements, as well as dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3 wheel buggy for sale-wheeler with her infant and toddler and wrote: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground, with the swivel front wheel being especially helpful. I was also awed by how well it dealt with the kerbs, particularly when using the brake operated by hand. It was very stable for descending or on a rough terrain."
The only drawback of this incredible maneuverability is that the 3 wheel buggy's bigger wheels sometimes mean that it can be difficult to maneuver in tight spaces - something to consider if you live in a urban area. If this is a problem then a four-wheeled buggy might be the better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars are a great method to shield your child from scrapes and bumps when out and about. They are easy and quick to install and make your child feel safe and secure when out in the city or on the trail.
It is designed to complement the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar features a soft and cushioned surface that provides a comfortable spot for your child to hang on to during walks. The fabric sling sits snugly inside the frame, not on top like the seat that is modular. This creates a lower center of gravity for your baby at the ideal height, and also offers excellent weight distribution to make it easier to push over curbs (it is much easier to push a stroller up and over than you may think). MFM reviewer Kath said it was ideal on cobbles and grass. It's also a good option for running with its tyres that are filled with air and a locking swivel wheels.
This bumper bar will turn heads wherever it is used. It has a sophisticated and fashionable appearance. Available in a variety of colours and finishes, it can be customized to fit your style. It features a simple, quick-release mechanism that makes it easy to remove and install the bumper bar as necessary. The bumper bar is also easy to clean, as it is constructed of strong materials. This makes it a good choice for families looking for a stylish and safe stroller accessory.

Kath who was our MFM reviewer, also adored the spaciousness of the buggy. There's a nimble, large basket that is quite spacious for a buggy that's this big. Plus, there's also a handy pouch on the back of the unit, as well as two smaller mesh pockets beneath the hood, where you can keep your keys and phone.
