WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show the item upgrader mod's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item upgrade (simply click peatix.com) slot, and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade items recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via several methods which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and some new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if those items are from a different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one usage and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It's Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
