The Best Cot Beds For Your Little One
A restful night's sleep is important regardless of whether you're camping, or visiting relatives. Invest in one of our top cot beds to ensure your little one is snug, safe and (hopefully) sleeping easily.
This crib bed is a fantastic design. It is slim and sleek, and the frame is easy to put together. It can also be converted into a chic toddler's bed.
The Mamas and Papas Coxley
The Coxley, our overall winner, is packed with features that adhere to an elegantly handcrafted aesthetic. It comes with three adjustable cot base heights, and can be converted into a toddler bed which will help your child through the first four years. It also comes with two rails for teething that can soothe gums and keep them from chewing on the sides of the cot.
The Coxley is available in the complete nursery set that includes a stylish cotbed, multipurpose dresser/change unit and double wardrobe. The dresser/change cabinet has an easily removable changing top that can transform it into a convenient baby changing station to a sleek dresser that can be filled with all your child's favourite toys and keepsakes. The drawers can be customized and you can tailor it to the decor of your nursery.
Some cots can be extended for 10 years or more by using expansion packs. They are less expensive than buying a brand new mattress or cot.
The Coxley is a great choice for cot beds. It's simple to put together and well-made, and looks stunning in any nursery. However, it is somewhat more expensive than some of the other options on our list and will require a standard sized mattress (which you'll need to buy separately). It's still worth checking this out, though, as we believe it's worth the money for a long-lasting design that looks extremely sturdy.
The Silver Cross Westport
The Silver Cross Westport is an elegant and sleek choice that will complement any nursery. It combines minimalist inspiration with a contemporary twist, featuring warm oak-like details and soft curves for a standout style that's sure to be loved by parents and the baby. The cot bed can be used until your child reaches age of four and is easily converted to a toddler bed using a simple extension kit. The coordinating dresser comes with an under-bed drawer that's ideal for storing muslins and blankets as well as teething rails to keep your little one safe while they sleep.
Our tester found this cot to be the best of the models we evaluated for its design and ease of assembly with an Allen key that comes with it so you can start working right from the start. She also praised its strong construction and premium feeling as it felt like it was a "real piece of investment" and also an attractive accessory to any nursery.
It's more expensive than other cot-beds we've looked at however the quality and durability make it worth the extra cost. The sleigh's design is stunning and will make any room where your baby's the center of attention! You can save money by purchasing the extras such as teething rails and an organizer. We would suggest buying an oval mattress than a standard UK-sized one to avoid stretching the slats too much and cause discomfort for your baby. In addition our test subject didn't experience any issues with the cot and stated it was a great buy.
The La Redoute Willox
This cot bed is absolute luxury. It's constructed of solid plywood slats, birch and is built to last. It has a French look and feel. It also complies with French safety standards and you can rest sure that your child is in safe hands. We are awestruck by the off-white finish but it's also available in a stunning grey-green color.
Our test participants found it easy to assemble and thought it was the most elegant look cot we've seen in our round-up. However, it's costly and you'll need to buy the mattress separately, and if you're on a budget there are more affordable alternatives there.
The Great Little Trading Company Little Wren Cotbed
If additional features are important for you then this cot bed might be the ideal option. It has a useful drawer for storage under the bed and teething rails. You can also adjust the height of the base to three levels so that your child doesn't have to climb out of bed as they get older.
This Mini Cot Bed's only drawback is that it requires a mattress separately which could make the price go up even higher than other models we reviewed. Its gorgeous design, ease of assembly and the ability to adapt to your baby's needs are all appealing which makes it a worthy investment. Our testers loved this cot and thought it would make a wonderful accessory to any nursery.
The John Lewis Elementary
The John Lewis elementary is a great choice for parents looking for a sleek frame that lasts a long time. It's more expensive than other options, but it comes with an accompanying changing table and wardrobe to outfit your nursery all at once. Additionally, it's simple to set up and has three positions for the mattress's height so that your baby will be able to grow into it. It also comes with teething rails as well as an elegantly slidable drawer under, so you don't have to sacrifice floor space.
You'll have to purchase an additional mattress if want to use this cot bed. Therefore, think about your budget in advance. A good mattress can be purchased for less than PS100. It's not a huge expense. The only issue is that you might find it tricky to get an ideal fit due to the fact that the cot has an oval shape, but there are many kinds of mattresses that can fit perfectly.
Many parents choose cot beds due to the fact that they are a great value and give your child a comfortable place to sleep. The majority of cot beds are suitable for children ranging from birth to around four years of age, but some may be transformed into toddler beds by purchasing an extension kit. There are a few of these in our list of options if you're looking for a cot bed that lasts longer.
The Wooden Cotbed
One of our top cot beds, this gorgeous solid-wood version is beautifully designed and extremely stylish. It also has a number of other features, including an under-bed drawer and three levels of base that can be adjusted. The cot is suitable for kids from 4 years old to age (though some of them will need to be converted to a toddler bed by using the conversion kit available separately).
The bed comes with a teddy bear canopy as well as removable teething bars. This cot sets bed was easy for our tester to assemble. All of the pieces were clearly labeled and well-packed. It's also smaller in size than other cots and tots we tried which makes it an ideal choice for smaller rooms.
It's not cheap at PS599 with the mattress included, but it feels like an investment piece that you could make use of it for multiple babies. It's beautiful in natural wood but it is also available in three Scandi-inspired colors. It converts to a toddler's bed with ease (leaving three sides up for security) and then into a daybed/sofa when your baby is ready to go without bars.
It's a great option for parents who want an adjustable sleep solution that can last for as long as it can - our test with parents Becki says her Boori cot has survived three children, which means it does seem to stand the test of time. It has a lovely, traditional style that'll suit most homes, and is made of sustainable Australian Araucaria and New Zealand Radiata wood. The cot comes with useful extras like an teddy-bear canopy, teething rails and the option to buy a reflux wedge.
