Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item upgrader mod's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at a time to gain a gauge for each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be done through many different methods that include using upgrade components and upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. In addition there are many items that can be reforged to boost their stats even more.

You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the main method of upgrading equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and many require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others give general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, can be placed on any equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools and offer numerous bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting materials.

Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, along with any required components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as blocked if you don't have enough of either.

The upper-right corner shows the amount of upgrade components required to create an item. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, but can be reduced through a variety of ways, such as purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded by a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or rune, and a lot of them are upgraded by a suffix upgrade. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective tool for communicating visual information. They animate in order to draw the attention of the viewer and spark curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by certain amount. This is displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by and not the amount it will actually increase it by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and the quality of the product you are in awe of.

The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been incorporated into your gear, you can move it to another piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you want to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its fragments, therefore it should not be considered a loss.

If you take an item off after adding a glyph, the shards that are part of that glyph will disappear. You can also place an inscription on your equipment to increase its value. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who are taking a lot of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, such as mystery boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player a random affix that is typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens are also a great way to reroll weapon stats that can be upgraded for better damage or additional perks.

Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they still qualify to receive upgrades. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will change the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its own level, so higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

In addition to reroll tokens players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolls are a great option to upgrade an item, however, players should be aware that it will reduce the overall ilvl the weapon due to the number of rerolls used to raise it to its final ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective for ring items and Diadems that do not have any competing ilvl-raising options.

Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's better to allow people to pay for it using money or food items that will allow players to make changes to their builds without spending excessive amounts of time. The developers aren't planning to implement paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. Instead, they're planning add an option to change the race in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item upgrader. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade that increases the upgrade value of a given stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of an individual stat. Additionally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item level upgrade.

When upgrading items it is essential to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are instances where a higher or more special roll may occur. Additionally the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type which means that if you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an exceptional item type you has a chance to achieve an iLevel that is higher.

Upgrades to items can be costly especially when you're upgrading an item of equipment from a standard to legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on the iLevel it's built upon and the amount of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky the upgraded Best item upgrade will reach the maximum level of its upgrade track and unlock a bonus effect. This will result in a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level, however. In general the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.

Based on the item's base level and its upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For instance the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to an exceptional item will be able to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
