World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items can be used to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each Upgrade item increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.
Best item upgrader Level
When an item is upgraded, its stats increase in value. This is the sum of all the upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.
The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and is visible on all item tooltips. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item can help players evaluate the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it will be capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done using the item's level.
The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory states that the item level is calculated by a formula that calculates how valuable the stats of an item really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different values and gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item upgrader mod. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is typically close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
This isn't the only factor that influences the value of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may alter its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Stats on an item are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to a single weapon, and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn boosted by the player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.
Another method to alter the stats on an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could do things like give the item additional damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item.
All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it is a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.
Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is especially advantageous in the early game, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increases with each level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor, and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by five percent. These items are available at the store or constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much success rates can be increased and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..
The Luck of an item level upgrade can influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
