WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item upgrader kit level by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader kit upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item Upgrader Mod upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item upgrader mod and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded, and can be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if the items come from another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of choices. They can choose to use Flightstones that are a general upgrade currency available to everyone players, or crests, which are more specialized and used to upgrade specific levels of the item. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
