Path of Exile item level upgrade Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Typically, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or extra impact when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player must select it, and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level however, the materials needed do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of these items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will enable the item to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes available is determined by the Best item upgrader's class. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is located in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item does not get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower chance of success.

Engineers will use a level in order to measure the height of the building against an established point, like the benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with a high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential part of the game that can increase the damage, strength or other attributes. You can do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be used in very rare instances.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item upgrader or another item upgrader mod of the same type. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This could be a positive or bad thing dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater chances of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character faster, which allows players to advance in the game and attain higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They could be of various sizes, have none of the elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.

There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have a lot of armor or weapons already.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific functions that are beneficial for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into parity with their tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could improve their defense, and make them more competitive when it comes to damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the character screen. This will display the item's attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
