Why Buy a 3 Wheeler Buggy?
If you enjoy running in the morning, an e-bike with three wheels could be the best option for you. They are equipped with larger wheels, which provide a smoother ride however, they are heavier to store and require a larger car boot.
If you want to use your pushchair for outdoor walks should consider models with air-filled tyres (also called pneumatic) They are able to handle on rough ground and can have an swivelling front wheel that can be locked for greater stability.
What is a 3 wheeler buggy?
If you're off-road or in the city, a 3 wheel stroller with infant car seat-wheeler offers superior maneuverability. They are able to turn at any time and are easy to handle and pass the rigorous tests of stability. A fabric sling sits comfortably inside the frame instead of sitting being placed on top of it as modular seats. This design has a lower centre of gravity, which makes it easier to push and lighter curb pops (you don't need to put as much weight or effort into popping your buggy over a curb). Mountain Buggy(r) even has a world first: sport verso(tm), a 3 wheel tandem stroller wheeled inline chassis that can grow with your family - from the face of your infant carrier to toddler ride-on board.
Are you planning to go "off-road"?
For those who like to be adventurous and get off the beaten track it's essential that your buggy can cope with rough terrain. You need a good suspension to absorb bumps, and large wheels with air filled tyres to ensure a great grip on difficult terrain. A front wheel that locks is also a great option for stability when running on tougher surfaces.
MFM reviewer Kath really put this fun-loving buggy to the test when driving it over rough dirt, cobbles, and grass tracks with her infant and 3 wheel infant stroller year old. She said "it handled everything with ease and was even pleasant to jog with. The 16" rear wheels and lockable "swivel" front wheel offer excellent stability on off-road trails or uneven surfaces. The tyres are also equipped with springs that are built-in to guarantee the smoothest ride.
Sport verso is a new world first. It's a fantastic single buggy, however it is easily adapted to take two (or more!) If your family grows, you'll be able to use the same buggy. The fabric sling seats are placed snugly inside the frame at a perfect height to evenly distribute weight. This allows for an easier push and a more comfortable curb-pop.
Are you looking to 'go out and about'?
A three-wheeler has a single front wheel and two wheels at the rear and, depending on the model, the wheel will be free to rotate or locked in place so that the buggy is able to travel in straight lines. Their USP is that they are incredibly manoeuvrable and easy to steer, and often come with suspension (which is useful for tricky terrain) and tyres with air-filled tyres, so the ride is smooth and comfortable. This means they are great for everyday use around town and are usually capable of handling kerb popping as well as being able to go off-road too.
However, as with any buggy, it's important to drive them responsibly and not get distracted by tablets, mobile phones or any other gadget. Avoid driving when you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol as it could affect your judgment and reaction time. Examine the footprint of your buggy when it is fully folded to ensure it will fit in your car.
If you are looking for a buggy to transport you from the park to the shops, you should choose one with a large shopping basket, a strong brake pedal, and a large sun canopy (50plus inches in size) with an extendable pole. MFM reviewer Kath particularly liked the sling seat in fabric, which features an automatic lie-flat bed for newborns, and felt the seating was positioned perfectly within the frame for an even weight distribution. However, she noted that the triangular frame has half the storage capacity of the 4 wheeler.
Are you looking to visit the park'
With the amazing maneuverability this fun lovin' 3-wheeler offers it is ideal for urban adventures too. MFM reviewer Kath put it to the test and found it navigated grass, bumpy pavements and cobbles very easily. It also was able to take on the kerbs in town, because the seat sling made of fabric is perfectly positioned within the frame at a perfect height to distribute weight.
The buggy can also be used for jogging, as it has locks on the swivel wheels at the front and a'snug & stretch' tyre, which provides smooth riding. The only downside to the big wheels is that it might struggle to fit into some smaller spaces when folded. Luckily it has some pretty impressive storage features to make up for this! There's a large basket and an open pocket that zips up at the back.
